Droplets

The waves that crash upon the shore
Are strong, and though they proudly roar
Forgetting what they were before
But the ocean still remembers

A sparkl’d drop casts in the air
And pauses just a moment there
Falls once again in dark despair
But the ocean still remembers

The swells that roll in green array
Seem sturdy as they make their way,
But fall to shore in foam and spray
But the ocean still remembers

The silent, dark and tomblike deep
Where rotted hulls in restless sleep
Rest heavy on the souls they keep
But the ocean still remembers
