BLACK TUESDAY (20/10/2020

The hand writing on the wall
is crystal clear,
Where is our Democracy?
Our human rights are humiliated
Where have we gone wrong?

We have endured for decades,
Smiling and weeping in pains,
Comfortable in our discomforts,
Are we doomed to suffering?

We are like pencils in the hands
of our leaders,
Who sharpen and erase our pains
with campaign promises,
False hope wounds our hearts.

We are daily deleted from the earth
by dastard souls,
Who swore to protect us,
They see breathe like breeze.

On a black Tuesday,
At Lekki toll gate Lagos,
Peaceful patriotic protesters
were monsteriously murdered.

What is their crime?
Agitation to End SARS and SWAT\'s brutality,
Agitation for good governance,
Oh! Martyrs, our fallen heroes.

The world is bereaved
of your painful heroic journey,
It hurts to bid you farewell,
In sorrowful tears we lay you to rest.

Though in purgatory,
Your souls will sojourn
for temporal meditation and forgiveness,
Bid farewell to Zik and Yar\' Adua
that we are resolute in our revolutionary journey,
We shall rebirth a New Nigeria.
