Not Always Winter

Brrrr! It\'s cold emotionally at times

Here with us at present

Or for any going through grief

It won\'t forever be Winter though

I feel more upset at times at other\'s grief

Or some sentiment or condolence

Starts me - starts us - weeping a bit

We\'re experiencing it at the loss of my Dad -

A father, grandfather, and great-grandfather

You\'ll know the grief, if you\'ve experienced it

We did over 25 years ago

When our beloved Mum departed

And so have some relatives

Where both their parents have now departed

It\'s not forever dark either

With a Christian faith to hold to

To share it, at least a bit where we can

With one another

A Funeral Thanksgiving Service?

Can the two be combined somehow?

It may a be a while yet

Relatives to inform, to arrive

From different places of the country, etc

But it won\'t be gloomy, depressing, downcast

It\'s the best thing to hold to

The only thing really -

A Christian faith - Humanist things are not enough

Though there\'s much human help and support too, of course

One said - Christianity

Not a crutch to lean on

To hold us up, lest we stumble

But it\'s the ground to stand on

A rock - the Rock....

Jesus has been all the way before us

There\'s massive comfort

God, the source of all comfort

Yet comfort is sometimes used

In the sense of \'discipline, strengthening,\' etc

\'Rest in Peace, and Rise in Glory\'

Dear departed one.....

We\'re not millions of years old really

But in our Cuckoo Land

Goldfinch and I are - and you too?

It\'s quaint

Just humour us! (heehee)
