Atop a building that rivaled hills,
a tree rested with heaven on its branches.
Through the leaves, a pair of eyes peered,
watching the cars move like a blur
and the people indulge to their hearts\' content.
The pair of eyes sat on the branch,
his steel fingers clinging to the tree,
as the gentle cold breeze of the night meant nothing to his fur—
except for a foot that lost a shoe, as his right leg was the only thing human.
Then a wasp landed on the end of the Narra branch.
A crack whispered before the chimera began to fall.
Passing each window, spirals began to perform around him
as his flame began to flicker out and light again.
Each resident of the building was just a blur to him now,
except for an owl and crow telling stories,
jackrabbits and shrikes playing,
and sheep and wolves having a feast with the shepherd,
as he drew closer to the concrete sea below.
