The Drive

I just drive my car and get hung up in it,

lose my thoughts in the songs playing,

view the world in the mirrors image of it,

on a path too nowhere, I end up staying.

I drive until the moments end becomes time,

turn the wheel and return towards home,

focus on the memories remaining to climb,

then set my thoughts free to indirectly roam.

I just drive my car and get hung up in it,

listening to what my thoughts are saying.

An empty seat beside where you sat in it,

the memories in my mind always playing.

I drive to be safely comfortably alone,

protected from the judgmental views,

and life\'s annoying high-pitched tone.

This road I drive, to get back to you.
