Who told you could win?
Who told you that lie?
Did you fall in love with the party flag?
Did you think it would let you fly?
There goes The Man, clinging to the flag,
Who made it out of the hole
The hole of faceless existence
Where everyone remains unknown
So badly you want to believe,
The flag will give you the wings
Like a drowning man clutching at straw
Whose belief in the flag remains supreme
You dream on reaching the shores,
They will hail you as the King
Perhaps the King of a tiny kingdom
But, a King indeed!
Then came the rain dancing on her toes,
You reached for the flag,
It vanished in a blink of an eye
Getting you drenched to core
Storm tears the roof over your head
You feel so cold and forlorn
The dark field seems to be closing in on you
Sky punctured by thunderbolts
A staccato inside your head
Plays like a broken record
Go back being an ordinary man
Don\'t chase the flag
It is a mirage
The Flag won\'t make the flowers bloom
The Flag can\'t make the sky smile
It can take any happiness you have
And drown you by the roadside
Don\'t fear losing what you never had
Embrace those that you do
Cherish the gifts of life that you have
Being unknown is a boon
