What Am I?

I am not a pirate,
for I haven\'t sailed the 7 seas.
I am not a teacher,
no protege have I teached.
I have not understood the Bible or Quran,
for I am not a monk, nor rabbi nor priest.
I am not the drunkard or server,
no Holy wine have I preached.
I am not the traveler or destination,
no secrets do I breach.
I am no road or pit,
no heaven nor Hell have I reached.

Then What am I?
My identity, to myself,
is known least.

I am no angel,
for one too many sins have I done.
I am no demon,
for prayer I haven\'t shunned.
I am no fish,
for in the land, I stay.
I am no bird,
for not in the sky do I find way.
I am not fauna nor flora,
nor alien nor beast.

Then What am I?
My identity, to myself,
is known least.

I am no Christian,
for I am not bound to the cross.
I am no Jew,
for in the Torah I am not lost.
I am no Hindu,
for I have abandoned the idol\'s gaze.
I am no Muslim,
for I have circumambulated the heart.
I am no Zoroastrian,
for to no fire have I bowed.
I am no pagan,
for meaningless practices have I ceased.

Then What am I?
My identity, to myself,
is known least.

I call upon every teacher then,
every traveler, drunkard and priest.
I call to every angel then,
every demon, bird and beast.
I call to every Christian then,
every Muslim and Jew from West and East.
For what is my identity?
whose secrets, to myself, is known least.

So until they arrive,
in this thought I concede.
I am no leader or follower,
but I am both.
I am no plant or beast,
for I am all.
I am no Hindu or Christian,
for I do submit.

But What exactly am I?
for my identity, to myself,
is known least.
