Fine dining

Foolishly you set the table,

leave his food wide open,

Wanting him to dig in.

 you can’t feed a hunger,

That goes deeper than the plate.

Foolishly you think he’s  going to stay,

hold you tight and never stray.

For the thrill of the escape,

Yes, he will hold you tight,

He will savour every bite,

But he’ll never be satisfied.

It’s just food, It means nothing,

You should mean something.

Don’t lay all your cards bare so soon,

That table you set for two,

Will leave you feeling like the fool.

It’s a busy world,

Wait on someone who will chase,

a sip of your affection, every  crumb,

Otherwise you will be left numb
