Our bad habit

This is the line that we like to say,

“I have been doing well, life is great.”

A sentence said painlessly, out of habit,

We fail to articulate the whole sides of it.

It fits well actually, helps slip through unnoticed,

When we are actually breaking inside.

Send a smile your way, what a brilliant scheme,

Give a lough or two, to hide our silent screams.

Quite a clever deception,

To not look weak, out of desperation,

To not look like you are in need ,

Hiding wounds you can’t speak.

Matter of fact we are all going through it,

The same you imitate .

You too, wear the same mask,

Pretend to look okay, keep the same front.

we forget we need a hand to hold us,

Before we fall too deeply , to save us.

Those masks keep us apart,

When we choose to hide what we feel in our hearts.

We need to break the walls we’ve built,

Save each other from that grave fall.

We might leave the other wrapped in guilt,

Wondering why he missed the signs,

The tears wailing behind those eyes.

Wondering if his chest was heaving,

Struggling to breath in.

We need to drop the facade pain is real,

We need each other’s strength to heal.
