A Mole\'s Blessing

The phoenix rose from the ash of its kindled fire,
And soared across the sky, showcasing its grandeur.
It reached the liquid streams, and pondered its name,
Why was it that they dampened its flame?

The white stallion sprinted from the sun\'s very light,
And ran over the earth, bringing day to the night.
It reached the flowing liquid and shook its mane,
Looking at the bird, already pondering its name.

\"Why is it so,\" asked the phoenix, \"that we slow and die in the waters?\"
\"I have heard of a beast,\" the stallion exclaimed, \"that bathes in the unending waters.\"

The mole rose from dark earth and gazed at the mighty beasts,
In fear, it stood in the water, unfazed by its icy breeze.
The phoenix of fire and the stallion of light looked at the mole of the earth,
\"Why is it that the Beloved has made this your hearth?\"

To this, the mole smiled and gazed,
\"Fire burns all that comes around, light races, by others unfazed.
So what, other than water, shall keep man safe?
Thus, I find life in its cold embrace.\"
