Down, to the ground

Why are you coming at me all the time

Why are you always trying to take me down

I haven’t done anything you at all

So there’s no point in knocking me down

Unless you like to make me feel

Everything that you’ve once felt

When I had no part in your misery

You just want me to feel your pain

I can’t get a grasp on why you try

To push me down further just to be higher

When all this is dragging us both down

Down, to the ground

We’re both falling into a cage

You’re making yourself fall faster

Landing in all your fury and rage

Whilst I’m down there with you

I see your mistakes when you acknowledge mine

You think that I’m the one trying to be the best

When you’re just making me feel small inside

And you don’t want to be insignificant like the rest

I can’t see it clearly, why you want to be

Someone who you are definitely not

Why did you want to hurt and kill me

Just to prove something you can’t

You want to be better

That’s for sure

You think you’re so clever

And you always want more

But there’s never any reason

To why you want to hit me

To make me fall for your treason

And go down, hard, to the ground

You just want to be higher and superior

You want be to feel inferior

When I don’t understand why you do this

Since your motives are ulterior

You don’t want to share, when I already know

That you don’t want to be down there alone

So you grab me, and take me with you
