Fading light

Fading light

My blood pooling by my side,

return to me before I have died.

I can feel my life begin to slide,

starting its darkening ride.

My blood I beg and plead,

you’re the fuel my body needs.

The darkness on my light it feeds,

as I lay here and watch me bleed.

Faintly I can hear its call,

this darkness I attempt to stall.

Towards your puddle I slowly crawl,

before my brightness falls.

My blood pooling as I die,

return to me you would not try.

Trapped under a darkening sky

for my soul please quietly cry.
