Parting Party from Alexandr Vertinsky

Today the moon is languid,

Like a captive princess,

Sad, thoughtful, pale indeed

And hopelessly in loveness.

Today the music is unwell,

Barely sounds melodiously.

It is capricious and tenderself

And cold and very angriously.

Today is our last day, last

In a restaurant at seaside.

A shadow fell on the terrace,

The lights came on in the haze

The tide weaves on the bottom

Foamy lace white pattern.

We have invited silence dumb.

For our farewell dinner.

Thank you, thank you, oh, dear my friend,

For secret dates obsessions,

For unforgettable words then

And ardent cheer confessions.

They are like so brightly lights,

Burning in my bad weather.

For these golden days

Of stolen  happiness for never.

Thank you for your love in the vain,

Which similer as  torment action,

For what you gave me still again

Experience the pain of separation.

For intoxicating command song

Of captivating feminine body,

For that celestial passion,

Which sang in both of us loudly.

I raise hight my replete glass

For the inevitability of changing,

For to your new such slippy paths

And new betrayals inevitabling.

I don\'t envy that lucky dog,

Who’s waiting for you in no cheeriness.

For your returning to him at fog

I drink my glass in silence!

I know. I\'m not at all the same,

Who you do need for blessedness.

But he’s different... But let him wait,

While we will finish dinner!

I know, even for a man-of-war

A pier is needed in distance

But not for those like us! No us

Poor tramps and restless artists!
