The Game of Love
I play the game that’s played by Kings and Fools
the ancient game we play that has no rules.
I deal the cards that are my own design.
Each suit’s a heart and every hand is mine.
When you look at me I\'m not what I seem
I’ll break your heart and then I’ll steal your dream..
I’m just a player at the game of love.
If you knew what kind of man I am inside
the kind of man you’d soon grow tired of
a man without a heart, who has no pride
who’s just a player at the game of love.
Some say that I’m a drifter with no home
searching for love along the paths I roam.
That when I find a chance at happiness
I spoil love by cheating and craftiness.
That can’t be true for I have loved them all
It’s just that I can’t stand to see them crawl.
I know that I’m a player at the game of love
searching for the one meant to be my own true love
and if I find her then I know I’ll stay for good
to cherish her and love her like no other could.
