Jude Chukwuemeka Muoneke

HOME GOING

Darkness has visited men
In broad daylight,
The news of his sudden demise
Travels like wildfire.

A soldier of the faith,
Has gone home,
His deep sleep has summoned
Tearful laughters in many households.

Wukari Diocese in arches,
For an iroko tree has fallen asleep,
This sleep will last for ages,
Many eyes will cry a river,
Consolation will visit many homes.

Rev. Fr. Solomon Dankaro
Has paid his dues,
Brief illness his vehicle of transition,
We are sojourners on earth.

One by one we take a bow,
Who is next?
We live to die, and we die to live,
Our deeds will decide our fate.
