Melanie disappears.

On 3rd of July 2010 my Father slammed the door and left us.
He just left Mum and me all alone.
He said he needed to find himself or something.
Either way I was left without a Dad.

Soon after my 11th birthday I woke up screaming.
The little pinkie finger on my left hand was gone.
There wasn’t any blood and it didn’t hurt. It was just gone.
I don’t even know what caused it.
My mum wrapped my hand in cloth.
She said I could stay home from school.
I guess we both hoped it would somehow grow back.
It didn’t. In fact the next finger disappear while I was resting.
A few hours later my whole left hand was gone.
Mum called the Doctors and they called it a mystery.
They said they would check later to see if it got worse.
Oh it sure got worse. My whole arm disappeared.
The next morning I woke up with no feet.
Both feet just slowly vanished right before my eyes.
Over the next couple of days my whole body went.
I was just a head on a pillow. It was weird but
I wasn’t frightened. I was just curious.
Outside I could hear Dad’s voice.
He heard about what had happened  and
came back to see for himself.
He saw my head on the pillow and started to cry.
I guess I wasn’t much of a Father but I loved you very  much.
His tears dropped on the bed and my body started to appear again.
First my torso then my legs and finally my arms.
He gave me a hug and we talked for hours.
He said he didn’t find himself but he missed me.
