Echoes of the Mind

In the quiet corners where shadows blend
I wander through a labyrinth, no guide to lend
Thoughts swirl like autumn leaves in a gust
Each one a whisper, fragile, yet robust

A corridor stretches, lined with echoes past
Memories flicker, fleeting but steadfast
I chase the wisps of laughter, sharp and bright
But they dissolve in darkness, swallowed by night

Once a garden, vibrant, alive with bloom
Now tangled thorns encroach, a suffocating gloom
Petals of hopes lie scattered on the floor
A symphony silenced, once loud, now no more

I search for a compass, a star in the haze
But all I find are mirrors, reflecting my maze
Faces stare back, but their eyes are unknown
The pages of the story no longer my own

The ticking of clocks morphs into a hum
A reminder that time marches, relentless, it comes
Yet I’m a still-life, a painting in flux
Caught in the canvas, with colors mixed up

Thoughts spiral higher, then tumble and fall
A tightrope of sanity, a waltz with the pall
“Stay grounded,” they whisper, in tones soft as silk
Yet gravity falters, in this ocean of milk

Every heartbeat echoes, a drum in my chest
“Are you lost?” they ask, “Why don’t you just rest?”
“How can I rest when the world’s out of sight?”
When mind’s a tempest, a never-seen fight

I find little pathways, some filled with despair
But others are sunny, where joy fills the air
A gleam of connection, a flicker of praise
A moment, a heartbeat, a soft, warm embrace

Poems spin like spider webs, threadbare yet fine
Every word a reflection, a landscape divine
I write down my chaos, my fears on the page
Transforming the turmoil into quiet sage

Then dawn breaks anew, through cracks in the dark
Each ray a reminder, a gentle spark
“This brain’s not a prison,” I start to believe
It’s a canvas unfolding, in colors we weave

So I’ll dwell in this space, with its shadows and glow
Embrace every fragment, the ebb and the flow
For though I am lost, in the tangle I tread
I’m finding my way, through the whispers in my head

Each crooked step forward, each stumble, each fall
Carries the weight of the echoes, their call
I’m a traveler here, in this maze of the mind
A seeker, a dreamer, forever entwined
