The Art of Letting Go
It\'s not easy to say goodbye,
to the memories that cling like shadows
to the walls of my mind.
To the laughter, now distant echoes,
and the tears, now dried up rivers.
But I have to let go,
of all that was and will never be,
of all the dreams and promises,
now broken and scattered like ashes.
It\'s not easy to move on,
when everything reminds me of you.
The streets we walked hand in hand,
the songs we sang in harmony,
now feel like knives piercing through my heart.
But I have to let go,
of your touch, your smile, your love.
For they belong to someone else now,
and I am just a stranger passing through.
So I\'ll put away our pictures,
and lock them in a box of memories.
I\'ll delete your number from my phone,
and try to forget your voice.
I\'ll learn to live without you,
though it\'s hard and painful to do.
And one day, when the wounds are healed
maybe then, I can finally say goodbye.
