Voting

To stand in lines never ending

Feeling the anxiety rise

What shame is there in me voting

For whom are there judgmental eyes?

My vote is practically wasted

Not dwelling in one of the swings

Consider the state decided

Why shouldn\'t I collect my things?

If my vote means nothing to them

Why should I bother to cast it?

Am I defending racism?

My presence here causes a fit

Why must we feel shoved down so low?

To be white seems to be evil

All that I am from head to toe

Is tried before courts, illegal

Racism is that one race reigns

And one must pay homage because

Notice that nothing here remains

We had done and killed the causes

By manly need of avarice

They sowed the seeds for them again

Good friends, better accomplices

Slave and master they all became

Can my small vote make us return

To when racism was a laugh

I hope when I am in the urn

I\'ve altered our slope on this graph
