In my belly sits a monster
Who\'s waiting for its chance
It spits and boils and bubbles
A dark, tar-like substance
Which creeps up through the cracks
It finds in my defences
Slithering through, reaching out
And hugging my intestines
It stretches out past my diaphragm
Coils around my lungs
It sticks everything together
Until they can no longer expand
Then it reaches my heart and for a second
I think it might recoil
But then it rushes in and tightens
My heart\'s easy rhythm spoiled
Claws make their way up my throat
They hook behind my eyes
And as my vision goes black, I know
I\'ve always been a monster in disguise
