Into the jazz club we went yet again,
A quartet was there to play their music,
From the stage their sound sunk into my brain.
Sax, piano, drums and bass did the trick,
Music I knew and some that I did not,
Blew my mind in the way it was just played,
Took my mind to the place that hit the spot,
Where mind and body to its beat just swayed.
Such a superb bunch of jazzy swingers,
Playing their wonderful music for us,
They played their jazz like those mastersingers,
With such perfect wonder and little fuss.
The night ended and we went on our way,
Hoping we would see them again one day.
