Nerrith

That Which Takes

Beneath his dark, uncaring eyes,
He penetrates my soul.
With oily tendrils, cold as ice,
He leaves me now unwhole.

He hunts beneath a shrouded veil,
Where kindness dares not tread.
His gaze consumes; my thoughts grow frail,
And drags me to the bed.

He does not walk in light of day,
Where \'now\' and \'present\' gleam,
But shadows dance, and whispers say;
\"At night, I dare not dream.\"
