Farewell Mary

Life has its surprises, every single day.

Especially a sudden end,

one can never fully comprehend.

time is stolen when life robs us blind,

takes away our loved ones, leaving  grief behind.

laughter is silenced as a sad revelation is told,

People gather to accept a truth that is cold,

Hearts are heavy as the story unfolds.

our friend , a mother is no more,

her children’s youth will shake to the core.

it will slowly slip away,

As they wonder why time couldn’t wait,

wrestling with the loss, the cruel fate.

life can never be the same, far from okay.

i sit in silence as I watch my mother weep,

Her heart is broken, since her friend lies asleep.

She is uneasy, no solace is shown,

it is like life suddenly hit pause.

face to face with sorrow , the pain feels deep and real,

She wonders how she will recover or  heal.

her death not something she has accepted,

it is a truth she denies and has sadly rejected.

She called her home, she was her peace,

deaths cruel hand has stolen time,

A friends laughter a companions fire,

which lit up her world like stars in a fine line.

“no no no , it cannot be,” the only words uttered then silence.

nothing more is said the words just falter in the air.

mind shattered left in fragments.

It grieves the loss, the sudden cold blow.

No one can think it, no one can tell,

no body loves a farewell,

much so when no answer is given back,

no see you soon, since she will never come back.

Grief stays behind, hunting us day and night,

It runs deeper than the darkest well.

only God can give us peace when we are frail,

only in prayer will he give us strength when ours fail.
