Google map, our beloved paths we can transform in memories, and perhaps in a poem.
Google map not to observe the different landscape, mountains and seas you will
never ever see…. circumnavigating nothing the unknown?
Google map then…and now….
Italy, your father’s flat, and for sure his wife’ s too.
Then and now.
Google map years backwards, same tall trees, very tall ones.
Same automatic gates with pin to be inserted in the surnames’ entrance.
No alarms! What for?
Entrance gate, sometimes open, sometime closed, same very tall trees covering up the balconies.
Different colour for the entrance gate from green to grey from grey to green.
Garbage containers, no more than 2 for 27 flats, Google map check the changes!
The street with one motorbike. Less cars inside the car park, in 10 years.
Many passed away in 10 years. They were mostly owners>
No many cars now, few guests.
Google map and you will see the changes-
Germany?
Same hairdresser shop- same lawyers office- too many bad tastes graffiti.
Google map? The flat, 1 room you had been living in is no longer there, removed.
The tiny window removed.
Only large dirty windows. The street? Bad taste graffiti all around. Here and there.
Google map…..you can check the changes…..
London- South London- Clapham North. Garbage containers removed, in front of a small door.
Flat with ground floor large window- Now nest of a British young couple the whole
flat.
Google map and you will see the changes.
Brixton area, it looks much the same, more cars. No containers, they had never been there.
Same entrance- the room Google showed me- only completely different curtains.
The Office, more luxurious than ever compared to the past. London city centre, once fully busy-
Google map showed me luxurious, office vanished. The Barbican bridge. The smoking corner the same as
Arts and culture. More museum stuff.

Google seems to ask? How do you feel? Anxiety? Relief? Hope? Despair? Desire? Love? All the feelings felt.
Different town, Belfast NI.
North area.
Google map….. and you will see.
1st accommodation cannot be observed clearly by Google. It was a mansard room.
Very small entrance door, different colours through the years.
Different vehicles parked in front- temporary work vehicles and perhaps the same
containers?
Changes? The most remarkable an antenna TV Antenna not present in earlier years.
Italian owner in 2018.
Knocked one day at the small door- Rang the bell- asked for the owner, no clue who she was.
Let’s go with some soft background music and Google map will show you something else!
Years back. 2009 and now 2024.
Second accommodation. A large room.
The house I can actually recognize is only what Google map told me: hey look 2022, you were
living in there working or studying remotely.
Can you see the black entrance door- thick door. Nice bonsai plants on the ground floor.
Your windows with office curtains semi closed.
Same containers in front. The rest of the years Google map said@ ‘’watch it
But you are not concerned!
No emotions. Your life was not in there! Ugly front house- sometimes much better.

Another Google map of current accommodation. Not visible door from up above.
The entrance pretty much the same. Too many containers perhaps?
Belfast former office- great just front door shown with the same café full pf people now.
Nearly empty in 2021.
Electric buses are no longer there – stop moved elsewhere.
Google map something providing perhaps stronger emotions- back to the early 2000’s
Palermo Italy.
City centre- mansard flat- 2 rooms flat- tiny internal stair-late 19th century building.
The main brown entrance is the same- only 1 container allowed.
Motorbikes cars- no bikes
Rented to a single young woman in 2018.
The old Liberty balconies still there Google map showed me with all the means he/she
could and yours as well.
No lift to climb up.
