Mothers Tears in There Eyes

Mothers Tears In Her Eyes. (Returning From War)

John was 18 and his father gave him a letter to read.

He has been summoned to sign up and keep the peace.

He got his orders, then supplied a uniform and a gun.

Hugged his father as he waved goodbye to his only son.

So, with the memory of his mother\'s tears in her eyes.

John got settled on the plane and headed for the skies.

Him and his friends were off to fight in a foreign land.

To rescue peace and save the world of the devil man.

Thousands of young innocent men heading off to war.

In vast swathes they are driven up the foreign shores.

Gunfire blasting like fireworks in the darkened skies.

For them it\'s now in the hands of fate if they survive.

The blood starts to flow freely across the foreign sand.

They all forge forward with the courage of every man.

Advance, advance, advance went out the rallying call.

As the bullets rained the boys and men started to fall.

Trampling over their friends who had met their deaths.

Machine gunfire constantly flying all round their heads.

John thought I can’t die a boy; I have to become a man.

Repeatedly saying I will not die a boy in a foreign land.

With all their undaunting courage and determined wills.

Surviving boys and men approached blood-stained hill.

As they slowly walked across the rain drenched grounds.

All anyone could see was dead bodies lying all around.

Some young men suddenly appeared waving white flags.

They had fought and given all the courage that they had.

It dawned upon John and the remaining boys and men.

They battled and had obtained victory in a foreign land.

Again, John settles on the plane and heads for the skies.

Offering a small thank you to God that they are still alive.

At home he was met with tears of joy in his mother\'s eyes.

Parents squeezed him tight and said thank you, my son survived.
