Power of Love

When love comes, we ask ourselves,
Where can we find warmth in this endless chill?
The heartaches we carry, an ocean we must still.
We\'ve braved the storm of solitude,
We\'ve learned that silence isn\'t always gratitude,
And the rules and routines of what love seems,
Aren\'t always the reality of what love dreams.

And yet, the dawn is ours before we knew it.
Somehow, we do it
Somehow, we\'ve weathered and witnessed a bond
That isn\'t shattered, but simply unformed.

We, the seekers of a love and a time,
Where a soul, once adrift, finds its rhyme.
Where a broken heart, healed by another,
Learns to trust, to cherish, to rediscover.
And yes, we are far from flawless,
Far from pristine, but that doesn’t mean
We aren’t striving to form a love that is pure,
We are striving to forge a love that is sure,
To compose a bond committed to every emotion,
Every flaw, every devotion, and every notion.

So we lift our eyes, not to what divides us,
But to what unites us.
We close the distance, because to build a future together,
We must first lay down the fears that tether.
We open our hearts so we can reach for each other’s,
We seek harm to none, and joy for lovers.

Let the world, if nothing else, say this is true:
That even as we faltered, we found our way,
Even as we hurt, we healed,
That even as we tired, we revealed
A love that binds us, victorious
Not because we will never again feel pain,
But because we will never again sow disdain.
