Echoes of Injustice

Echoes of Injustice

In broken homes, countless in silence weeps,
What painful secrets do they wearily keep?

With wounded hearts, yes, with tear-streaked eyes,
Why must the innocent always pay the price?

Like a virus, injustice spreads from street to street,
While crushing hope beneath its calloused feet.

Cherished dreams are being lost in the night’s embrace,
When kindness fades without any trace.

Why there’s no food for the hungry, medicine for the sick?

But abundance can boast and mock the small and weak!

When will earth become man’s happy home?

When will we live in peace and freely roam?

Do pleas for help really fall on deaf ears?
Is there no one counting flowing rivers of bitter tears?

Memories of former happy days slowly fade, covered in dust,
But broken promises dance with shattered trust?

If suffering’s a lesson everyone must take,
Then why only select few still get a break?

When will lady justice wake up and bring her scales in balance,
When will love replace the hate and the cold indifference?

Why are we afraid to question, reason and seek,
If good conquers evil, then shouldn’t strong help the weak?

Is it really not bad enough for us to stand up and fight?
To stand our ground and turn this darkness into light?

Aren’t we all guilty and deserve to carry portion of the blame?

The answers lie within all of us, will we ever change how we play life’s game?
