Left without You

Left without You

Oh where did your smile go, once so bright and clear,
Now in depths of silence, you’re so far yet still near.

Our memories twinkle before me, like stars in the night,
As I search for your smile, your footsteps fade in my sight.

Not even the sun can extinguish the darkness that took you away,
Leaving me here heartbroken and in disarray.

Without your warm embrace, now I’m left exposed and cold,

Just one more hug from you is worth more than silver and gold.

Why does the sun keep on shining, but I’m shackled in gloom,
Each room around here, carries reminders of the space, still, you consume.

They tell me that time heals all wounds and softens the ache,

Each night I pray to God you’ll again be next to me when I awake.

I stare at our picture, still hear your sweet voice pledging a vow.

I’m overwhelmed with emotions, I’m desperate, I’m angry, where are you now?!

Your name in my sleep I continue to call,

I still loose all strength when tears start to fall.

In my heart you’re the only one, and so forever you’ll remain,
Because, my darling, we’re part of the same thread, woven through time, in joy and in pain.

I find some solace in knowing, again we’ll one day be together, hand in hand.

But next time I see you, my dearest, our vows, will not have an end.
