He never Loved of felt its Sun thereof,
Never to feel the knowing sting of all Byronic voice ,
And lost to perceive the declarations of his Poetic Love,
Or his Heart enthralled by his Union of Choice.
He saw the Sunset as the Hours Winding on down,
The expected sad end to another day fled,
And never to bathe in the beauty there found,
With a joining of hands by endearments said.
Never to walk through Summer’s Pride,
In fond May with passion burning through veins,
And the softest eyes to Love confide,
For when two Souls are entwined,
Rich life we so gain.
Never to follow the Moons slow pace,
It’s Heavenly Path upon the distant rise,
And whisper vows by it’s Lustrous Face ,
With tender looks under Starry-Skies.
For the byways of his life were a quiet affair,
Now the twine of his fate being spun ;
As Dame-Fortune was indifferent or unfeeling to care;
So he never did Love or feel the warmth of its Sun.
