It spread like butter
Gold wading through
The shimmering pipes
Glass containers filled
With clear chemicals
That swished fiercely
An elixir of life
Collected in drops
Pure drops
Of an antidote
To eternal blight
Resting in my hands
I raise the small vial to my eyes
A flask of burning love
Melting in existence
A cure to death itself
My mind rages as I twist
The bronze burette close
The flow of liquid stops
Infinite flames licking
The insides of my dry mouth
Anticipation and desire
Unfolds and ripples through me
As I raise the flask to my lips
An explosion of nectar
The boundless essence
Flooding my veins
Senses overwhelmed
Heightened emotions
As I swallow the contents
Love and pain
Glide down my throat
Suffering gnaws at the edges
Remaining with anger
But still overpowered
By the elixir’s love
