Hope in Those Smiling Eyes.
They ask why the boy has darkness in his eyes.
What makes him always cry and never smile.
He wishes inside there never was a yesterday.
When he sore his beloved mother pass away.
He was looking for food in the bombed-out town.
There he saw his mother laying on the ground.
Held his mother as the tanks were bearing down.
And the missiles continue to explode all around.
He wiped away the fresh blood on her aged face.
For this family the world is a very dangerous place.
He tries to remove some of the metal in her head.
He knows soon, his beloved mother will be dead.
His home, school and now all his family have gone.
In the middle of a war, he now stands sadly alone.
Him and thousands of his friends, hell won’t end
Waiting for the bombs and missiles to come again.
If and when the attacks do finally come to an end.
There will be nothing left for him and all his friends.
The hope you used to see in his bright smiling eyes.
It has long since gone like his family, it has all died.
