The Wedding Vows of Woe

I have tasted heaven and hell,

Lost myself in my illusion,

I have had a brush with death,

And each time he smiles,

Like he knows he’ll get me,

Sooner or later.

And I wonder,

What if,

What if he smiles because he already got me?

Got the best parts of me,

That when I said ‘I DO’,

I locked myself behind the gates of death,

Forever a captive,

Too guilty for the mercies of a final breath,

And now, in shackles, death feeds on my carcass,

A final mockery to my grand show!
