The Liminal Space of Life and Death

The Liminal Space of Life and Death

In the stillness, I linger, caught in between,

Breath drawn by machines, yet I’m nowhere.

Tubes entwined like vines, life’s tether frayed,

In this twilight realm, where hopes are delayed.

I drift through corridors where shadows linger,

Where souls whisper secrets that the living keep.

A mother’s prayer pierces the heavy air,

Her heartbeats echoing, a desperate prayer.

Suspended in silence, I float and sway,

Between the realms of night and day.

In this haunted limbo, nothing feels sane.

Suddenly - wheat grass surrounds me whole.

Warm breeze caressing my weary soul.

A familiar voice not heard but felt.

Where celestial boundaries are met.

A voice like thunder rolls through my core,

“Step closer,” it beckons— “You’re meant for more.”

\"Not yet,\" he says with gentle might.

\"Your journey continues, hold on tight.\"

Embrace the struggle; let your spirit ignite—

The path is treacherous, but it leads to the light.”

With a jolt like fire, I’m thrust back to earth,

Gravity grips me; I’m reborn in my worth.

Eyes flutter open to a world redefined—

Caught between realms, yet my purpose aligned.

A second chance, a holy sign.

Where mortality and spirit align.

Brave heart beating, destiny clear.

My path illuminated, without fear.

With life and death entwined in a delicate ballet.

With courage ignited my purpose was made clear,

I embrace this existence—my time is here!
