walking down the path
if you want to call it that
concrete that leads to anywhere
alone under a street lamp glow
long roads with car headlights
I see him again and he\'s waiting
I didn\'t know if i\'d ever see him
not after that night
it\'s like he knew I was coming
that I was wandering without aim
come to give my life direction
but he watches me slit my wrists
and the blood pours out
he looks at me with a slight tilt
a slight tilt in his head and figure
I fall to the ground
the concrete scrapes my legs
but all I can feel are my arms
the street lamp near here doesn\'t work
the only glow comes from the distant moon
the man grabs the knife I had
and plunges it into my chest
once, then twice, then he drops the knife
I see the headlights of a car
a car coming down the street
but when their lights reach me
seconds later, the man vanishes
almost like he wasn\'t there
but I know he was
because the knife\'s gone too
not seeing me, the car passes
and so do I
but just before I do
the man looks down upon me
and I see sadness in his eyes.
