Cheeky Missy

I Know, I Know, Just Don\'t Tell Me

IF I have any virtues, patience is not one of them.

Ah, Is\'t I So Badly Still Want Patience?

Turn at the sound of what? the Mallards hence
Walk on the ice to water in, t\'avail
A cove, their voices I\'d caught ere sans bail
Where freighted silence picks its teeth oer whence,
The forecast saying t\'will snow with rain from thence
In icy morsels, and we maunt exhale,
But hold our breath, as if to breathe would fail
Before the blast? Come, tis Spring\'s game fr\'intents.
O let me watch the hours unroll in tour
Those joys we cherished, nor now let the view
Be hid from mine eyes, lest I fail as t\'were
To see beyond, or farther than each cue
Which whispers of sheer hope, of late astir,
And fail to see afar off, LORD, to You.

...we\'d a different perspective back when these same styles were too trendy originally.

I Never Thought To See This Day

His dark wash jeans the eighties knew as bail
Brand spanking new, rolled at the cuffs for sense
Dredge mem\'ries of that era I thought thence
But girls would know; at least no slouch socks\' tale
Below, but if his shoes aren\'t Converse, they\'ll
Be more expensive knock-offs. Oh, pretense!
Not Gen eX with fair dreams in tow from hence,
No, but their kids and grandkids, trot the trail.
Go put my head to spinning, though in poor
\'Scuse I\'d known frae the runway shows twas due.
Yet how odd tis to see those styles we were
So keen on, bouffant hair and all \'gain to
Effect out on the streets, where time in tour
Has taen our dreams and left us to seek You.

...and then be too tired.

Put on the kettle once home, like from thence
To leave work and last night\'s shift \'hind sans bail,
As Barry\'s \'gins to steep, where that detail
Culls steam like aerie dancers to \'gain fence
The thought of yonder, shortbread for good sense
\'Longside; relax for half a minute, frail
Though aught \'scuse ist? Oh, but tis sweet t\'avail,
Like such brief moments could be sheer defense!
Caffeine to bolster, measure oats in tour,
Then sprinkle raisins on, add water too,
Salt, turn the flame up, and wash dishes; stir
Our porridge; chop potatoes, season too,
Roast up; Canad\'an bacon warm as t\'were,
And fry the eggs, as LORD, let us wait You.
