This intangible, amorphous thing
That no one can truly define
Is it a feeling? A thought?
Does anyone know?
Is love possessive?
Are you mine
And am I yours?
Do we belong to eachother?
Could I take you away
From everyone else?
Keep your smile
All to myself?
You\'re not an item to own
An object to use
Or to keep
And neither am I
I give myself to you willingly
Not as a thing to hold
But as a person to kiss
And to love
But what does it mean
To love?
The problem
That I want to solve
But what if it can\'t be?
Can you truly solve love?
An equation equalling X?
A program to run?
You can\'t define love
Not with words at least
Love is amorphous and vague
It changes all the time
Love to me now
Is not the same as it was
When I was ten
Or fifteen
Love to me now
Are the actions
And sacrifices one make
To show that you care
Just as love can\'t be described
With mere words
It can\'t be conveyed
With such either
Falling asleep in your lap
With your hands running through my hair
Resting your head on my shoulder
As I run mine through yours
The tender moments
Of calm and content
Of nose kisses
And the forehead too
Your giggle and laugh
As we wrestle in bed
Tickling eachother
Until gasping for breath
Love is action
Love is care
Love is time
Spent with you
