When I hatched from my egg, I was a caterpillar.
not a fuzzy one that turned into an emperor moth,
but a smooth one that would eventually be a painted lady butterfly
But as I sit in my cocoon, I dread to emerge.
I don\'t want to break free from my cocoon
knowing I\'ll be a butterfly.
I\'d like to stay in my cocoon and pretend I\'m a moth.
Because hiding in my cocoon, no one knows I\'m a butterfly.
Because hiding in my cocoon, I can tell others I\'m a moth.
I sit and sit,
and I hide and hide.
Those who know me, know I\'m supposed to be a butterfly.
But those who believe me when I say I\'m a moth,
Those are the ones I cherish the most.
I have friends, just like me.
Those who hide in their cocoons to avoid being seen as butterflies.
We hide together and stay close,
We tell eachother that we\'re moths, and we believe each other.
Because it doesn\'t matter if you\'re born to be a moth or a butterfly.
What matters is if you have the strength to leave your cocoon.
If you have the courage to be seen as a butterfly, even if your soul is a moth.
There are many moths I envy, for being born a moth.
But I bide my time in my cocoon,
Knowing one day, maybe I can be seen as a moth too.
Even when I become a moth,
others will call me a butterfly.
But those people are weeds in the garden,
and I\'ll simply fly past them.
Because in my garden, my friends are my flowers.
They give me what I need,
And in return I help them grow too.
