Regret\'s dark embrace

Regret swelling like a stormy sea

Haunting the soul, a weight to be

Fears creep in, a darkening shroud

As remorse festers, a heavy cloud

In the depths of the heart, a battle waged

Goodness struggles to break through the cage

But regret\'s strong chains hold tight

Dragging the soul down, into endless night

A glimmer of hope flickers, a spark of light

Longing to pierce the darkness, to take flight

Yet regret\'s barrier stands firm and strong

A formidable foe, where sorrow belongs

The weight of regret crushes, a burden to bear

Eyes swollen shut, as the heart struggles to share

The pain of remorse, a soul sucking sea

Drowning in regret, searching for liberty
