My wife, she fell in love with me at first sight.
I don\'t understand why. I loved her the same.
Her love took a sabbatical, a long flight
when the children were eating our time.
Those years passed and once more love for us.
She found the reason and the Rhyme
in our retirement, our so-called golden years.
As when first, we met, she clung, a vine.
She wanted no one else to come near.
I encouraged outings with me.
She only consented once or twice.
There was no one she wanted to see.
This off and on, this varying consent
continued with two steps on then back
she would sometimes relent.
She preferred home when I wanted presence.
She passed finally, loving me.
I still feel her essence.
