I see them.
I see them in their fancy suits,
I see them with their lovely patners.
I see them-they don\'t see me
But I\'m there, right next to them, sitting.
A tap on the lap,
a finger on a chin ,
a first sip of their red wine - oh I like the way it tastes!
And maybe a scratch on the neck, pretending to be bitten by an anonymous fly.
Waiting for a \"hello!\"
From someone who doesn\'t care,
Maybe a handshake, I guess.
Someone who failed to walk past,
Saw me sitting down - the roundtable,
clothed in a white sheet that matches my shirt.
Am hoping the red wine won\'t envy, and spill on me.
Surrounded by five chairs thay will never be sat on,
Five plates that will never be eaten from,
Five glasses that will never be poured into-
I guess it\'s just for decoration!
But I see them ,
That\'s all I can say,
And they don\'t see me-
Atleast for to-day.
