Sterling and Saoirse have been in the break room for much of the day. Raquel has kept charge of the store in the best of ways. Most of Saoirse’s customers come in just to see her and be in her presence. To many; she has been a silent blessing. Sterling opens up for the first time in many years; most of his story concerning his parents brings Saoirse to tears. Sterling had a deep love and connection with the both of them. Saoirse can’t help but feel sympathy for him. “One can never truly understand another person’s loss. Or just what we would sacrifice to care for them no matter the cost.” “No one can tell you Sterling how to walk in your grief.” “It’d be easy for me to say take a break from work and just feel what you need to feel and learn how to breathe.” Sterling is grateful for Saoirse and for all she’s done today. Just letting it out and talking about it has relieved him in some way. “Say Saoirse are you busy tonight? I’d like to take you out to dinner if you wouldn’t mind.” Saoirse was planning on leaving right after work; “I’m not busy at all;” she says. Leaving later couldn’t hurt. I’m not sure Saoirse is leaving today; what do you think? Will she eventually leave? Or is there more to Sterling that leads her to stay?
