How soon we forget

The sun too hot with melting rays
Gives warmth in winter\'s cold
Memories lost under summer\'s days
Sweat washes away thoughts of old

Burnt skin blistered under desert sky
Pain prevents thoughts of yesterday
Mirages under the sky of July
A season\'s advantages thrown away

Come the night and its frigid cold
Lost remembrances now return
Past sun burning bright, heat undersold
Under a cold blanketing heaven one prefers to burn
