Oh silent spirit, the weak among us are still dancing,
The broken slaves of a world in trouble are still smiling,
The prisoners of wealth are still jumping into cool waters.
Oh silent spirit, the poor mothers who failed are still sorry,
The women who cannot breathe are still saddened,
And the hungry are still hiding in small shelters.
Oh silent spirit , half this world is starving to death,
They rely on a climate that is against them.
The other half is dying of the greater sin of excess.
Oh silent spirit, who closes the eyes of little children,
Who lets fall the desperate who call on you,
Are you really there at all.
