The Pangea Ultima

The way the world is now, it’s hard to believe we used to be one

The idea of a supercontinent, Pangea

The world was not divided by continents, colour nor race

The thought of it always puts a smile on my face

It was beautiful until the supercontinent began to break apart

My mind runs wild every time I think about that

Was this a part of human evolution?

The works of tectonic plates motion

The forces of mantle convection

The two were allies to the creation of the world we live in today

Was the separation a strategy to make the world easy to manage?

Did God feel it was necessary?

Honestly, I am not a fan of this divide

The world is nothing but chaos, I wish I could hide

I used to wish for the possibility of a reconnection

Turns out that there is, the thought of it scares me

They call it Pangea 2.0

The return of the Panthalassa

What will become of us?

If we don’t kill each other, nature might?

The unmerciful wrath of the aging sun

Will the volcanic activities even give mammals a fighting chance?

I weep for humanity

I tried to remain positive but my hopes met gravity

Where is the grace of the Trinity?

The previous cycles led to the discovery of a lot of species

But it also resulted to the extinction of some

Will humans be next?

Facing a similar fate as the T.rex

One might ask where the Bible fit in all of this

Let’s not turn this into a battle between science and religion

Literature says, it will be circular with a hole in the middle

An altered territory

Will humans survive it or will Artificial Intelligence claim victory?

Will earth become a lifeless planet?

Imagine a world that is inhospitable to human life

As if pandemics and wars were not enough

But then again, maybe this is the revelation

The human race’s inevitable end

The Pangea Ultima.
