Wildly swollen muddy waters -
Solid reasons needed to leave homes.
Only Jay is out of his quarters,
Ready to oppose storms and stones.
Johnny whispers, disarrayed:
“We will die in this decay,
We’ll drown!”
Wind would seal your breath within
As the waves are closing in
Around.
She has lost remaining balance,
Rocks within the reach of their hands.
Jay would firmly hold the cadence,
Blackest raven on his shoulder lands.
As the captain starts to sing,
Raven flies his shadow wing
Way down!
To the water, in the blue,
Only waves lie still anew -
We’re out!
“Holy anchors, what a mile!” -
Johnny can’t believe in such a flame!
On the bridge, a squinting smile:
Jay the Braven celebrates his name!
