Hope of the Day

To have hope when awake

Is to believe in the day

That peace may be found

And pain taken away

Any meaning that we may find

Will be shown when we are kind

For a day in a life

That is not honored with might

Is to waste the glory

Of simply being alive.

And gratitude at night

Is to assure of even greater hope

At first light.
