James 4 v.1-4

From where do wars, or conflicts, and fightings among you come from?
Don\'t they come from your lusts, or desires for pleasure
That war in your members {i.e. within yourselves}?
You lust, and have those desires for pleasure, and have not what you want
You kill, or murder, and desire to have, or covet
And cannot obtain what you want
You fight and war, or battle
Yet you have not, because you ask not {i.e. in prayer}
When you do ask, you don\'t receive what you want
Because you ask amiss, that you may satisfy it on your lusts, or pleasures
You are as spiritual adulterers and adulteresses
As if married to God and married to the world
Don\'t you know that friendship with the world is to be at enmity with God?
Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world and its ways
Is, or makes themselves, an enemy of God?
