A world without war

A World Without War

Oh weary earth, beneath the sky,
Where echoes of lost battles cry,
Where sorrow stains the soil so deep,
And restless souls no longer sleep.

Let guns grow silent, swords unmade,
Let hands hold love and not a blade.
Let children dream without a fear,
Of skies so bright, of futures clear.

No flag, no border, nor divide,
Should turn the hearts of men to pride.
For peace is not a fleeting thought,
But something true, so bravely sought.

So let the rivers cleanse the past,
Let kindness be what ever lasts,
And may the world, so torn and tossed,
Find healing in the love it lost.
