The Dream I Wanted.
In my dream I could feel the love and I felt a soft tender touch.
On my little ears soft tones were delivered with a warm light breath.
No shouting or anger just softly spoken voices whispering to me.
You will be okay I am going to take your pain and set you free.
Come over here young man take my hand and walk with me.
Now I am going to show you and walk you through how life can be.
A land full of caring, fun, goodness, kindness and opportunity.
Where all the children play together completely pain free.
The long path we walked together along felt like cushioned air.
All I could see where smiling faces playing everywhere.
No raised voices to hear, just the sound of laughter could be heard.
No arguments, no fighting all the children are happy to share.
I could not see any marks or bruises on the young clean skins.
Not one child looked sad, hungry, frightened or disbelieving.
When the adults chose to speak there was no trembling with fear.
Every one of those children were happy and wanted to be there.
All the children looking good, dressed nicely in clean clothes.
I passed an adult who surprised me when he said to me hello.
Please will you come in and welcome to your new home.
Nothing to fear, your days have ended of being scared and alone.
This was a new world that I wished, I was desperate to live in.
Sadly, though my constant dreams can never be this fulfilling.
The frightening nightmares keep interrupting all my dreaming.
All the horrors of my young life, they want to keep reliving.
