Canticle

Bounty

While I walk,

My chest closes to the breeze.

With sweat on my forehead,

I am brought to my knees.

I cry out loudly,

But nobody hears a thing.

The heat from the lights,

Who is watching me?

Peering eyes cast judgment,

The mirror cracks my dreams.

As I stand,

I drag what\'s left,

Like a bounty among thieves,

I take the rest,

Drop my soul,

While my body leaves.
